All Collectible Groups on Bell Tree Forums, Ranked

Animal Crossing may have a couple fansites and fan groups like on GameFAQs and Reddit, but if you’re a member of a specific fansite, then you must be familiar with 28×28 pixels called “collectibles”, which go to a member’s sidebar. They are one of the most popular features on the Bell Tree Forums, the largest Animal Crossing fansite on the internet. While you have your avatar and signature, collectibles are also contributors to your aesthetics.

Back in 2013 to 2015, they were a much bigger deal since there weren’t as many as there used to be. Usually, the collectibles that were higher in demand back then were apples, peaches, chocolate cakes, blue houses, yellow houses, moris, and the highly coveted pokéballs, pinwheels, and white feathers. Nowadays, there are 404 collectibles in total, and there will still be more coming on the way. While some are more popular than others, one thing people prefer more these days are having more palatable sidebars like gradient colors, rainbow coordination, and all collectibles of one category.

It would be difficult to list all 404 collectibles from best to worst. Therefore, I would rank them based on categories. Some of them, like the eggs, feathers, and candies, are so large that I split them into different categories. While some, like the mushrooms, motes of flame, and the toy hammers, are so small that I would merge them with others. There are 40 categories in total. Now there are still some small categories (like arcade items) and large categories (like balloons), but I’m not ready to join them or split them apart. Examples of what I do split apart:

  • For just eggs alone, there are four different categories. The Halloweaster eggs get their own category since they have a different background and released for Halloween instead of Easter. For the Easter eggs, I have the fancy eggs (the upper-tier egg collectibles), the basic eggs (the lower-tier egg collectibles), and the character eggs (eggs based on characters from other video games).
  • Feathers and star fragments are split based on color scheme. The team star fragments (based on the 2023 Space Camp TBT teams) and the single-colored star fragments introduced in 2020 are in two different categories, as well as the single-colored feathers and retro blended feathers (introduced as part of the 2017 TBT Fair). But the round balloons, heart balloons, and bunny balloons are still one category.
  • While some like the golden egg and pink candy may fit in some of the common categories, all award collectibles would go under the trophy category, where they are awarded to everyone who won a contest, got a staff favorite or performed well during the TBT Fair (or won the Christmas Day raffles), got a staff favorite or performed well during the holiday events (including winning the golden egg or raffles), won a team favorite during the team events, or came from the winning team of a team event.

Without further ado, here’s a list of all 40 collectible groups from best to worst. Some of these categories are too tacky or too weird to be collectibles, but others are pretty good collectibles. This does not include temporary collectibles or add-ons, but it does include non-tradable collectibles.

  • #1 – Glow Wands: Not only is this the most popular category of collectibles on TBT, but it’s also my favorite of the collectible categories. They were first introduced to the forums in 2016 as part of the Summer Nights TBT Fair. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the glow wands played a very little role, for that they were only available in December, were just showy, and did very little to contribute. But on the Bell Tree, they were the most popular, and the category expanded in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Back in 2015, I wanted to see glow wands since they were the most beautiful, but now, I would like one of the original ones for nostalgia towards not just the 2016 Fair, but towards 2016 as a whole.
    • Best Collectible: Of the original three, I would go with the Flower Glow Wand because of its shape and color. I’m not a fan of hearts, and the Star Glow Wand suffers for being a yellow collectible. But now, the honor of best glow wand goes to the Snowflake Glow Wand because of its blue color and winter theme. The next two are the Pumpkin Glow Wand and the green Flower Glow Wand.
    • Worst Collectible: Unfortunately, two of the three original 2016 glow wands would go towards the bottom three of the list. But even they aren’t the worst of the glow wands. The last place glow wand is the Enchanted Butterfly Glow Wand. I’m not a fan of the butterfly symbol, and it’s white rather than colorful. It’s still better than half of the collectibles.
  • #2 – Fancy Easter Eggs: Composed of 16 eggs (Disco Ball, Galaxy, Dreamy, Aurora, Nightmare, Frost, Spring Bloom, Prismatic, Zen, Dark, Chao, Dragonscale, Crescent Moon, Glitched, and Stardust), the Fancy Easter Eggs are the second best collectible category. They show that egg designs have improved since they started introducing new egg collectibles from the 2016 Egg Hunt and later. During the 2024 Egg Hunt, they were rereleased as the 8-egg, 12-egg, 16-egg, and 20-egg collectibles. They also given me a reason to like egg collectibles.
    • Best Collectible: My favorite of these eggs would be the Disco Ball Easter Egg, first released in 2018. While being the most beautiful egg, it’s also one of the rarest due to the low amount of participation during the 2018 Egg Hunt and the Easter Fools prank giving us a much worse-looking collectible. The next two best ones are the Galaxy Easter Egg and Frost Easter Egg.
    • Worst Collectible: The worst of the high-tier Easter Eggs is the Nightmare Easter Egg, due to design and name. I’m also not very fond of the color purple (even less than the color yellow). Also, the Dragonscale Easter Egg and Crescent Moon Easter Egg aren’t all that great.
  • #3 – Trophies/Awards: This is where all of the animated collectibles go into, as well as the rainbow collectibles and trophies. The fact that you’ll earn these for winning a contest or performing well in the events makes these very rewarding, and the aesthetics are brilliant. Even I was one of the many users to have won one of these collectibles. Sadly, I couldn’t do good enough to earn another. Even the raffles weren’t in my favor, and the bottle guessing games are just unpredictable.
    • Best Collectible: Of course, even the award collectibles can be awarded themselves. The best ones are usually the animated ones, more particularly the TBT Fair ones. My top three are the Green Pinwheel, Crescent Moon Glow Wand, and the Tetris Grid, with the Tetris Grid collectible being the best of them all (and the only one I have won so far). For the others, I’ll probably give the Sinister Lantern the most love.
    • Worst Collectible: Although this position is given due to my low opinion towards candy collectibles in general, the Pink Candy collectible is my least favorite of the award collectibles. The fact that it’s one of the award collectibles makes it the best of the candies, but it’s still the worst of the award collectibles.
  • #4 – Balloons: As a balloon lover, the balloons float very high on this list. But they can’t float to the top. Up high is so dark that the glow wands are the only source of light. And award collectibles get the third-place medal in best collectible categories. But balloons, they are cute and are definitely collectible-worthy in my opinion. They were first introduced in 2014 as a celebration of Bell Tree Forum’s 10th anniversary, with only the blue and green balloons being released. Then in 2019, they tied down the red balloon, orange balloon, and light blue balloon to the collection. And then the set was finished by the Farewell to New Leaf event, as we not only got to see the rest of the round balloons, but also got to see the heart balloons and bunny balloons.
    • Best Collectible: Generally, the round balloons are better than the heart balloons and bunny balloons. But my favorite of the round balloons is the Light Blue Balloon. But that’s because blue is my favorite color. There’s also the darker Blue Balloon, but if the Blue Balloon is the water balloon, then the Light Blue Balloon is the ice balloon.
    • Worst Collectible: The worst of the balloons is the Sweet Bunny Balloon. I’m not a fan of polychromatic balloons or the bunny balloons. It’s still not worth popping since I love balloons, but it will be the last balloon collectible I would collect as of now.
  • #5 – Fruits: Easily the best of the basic shop collectibles. Before the Farewell to New Leaf event, the only five collectibles we had were the apple, peach, cherry, orange, and pear collectibles. But after the event, more have been added, which include the perfect fruits and tropical fruits.
    • Best Collectible: The best of the basic fruits is the Apple, the best of the perfect fruits is the Perfect Apple, and the best of the tropical fruits is the Banana. Overall, the winner has to go to the Perfect Apple. I was lucky that I was given the apple tag during the event. Otherwise, I would have others use their MEOW coupons to buy perfect apples. If there anything that symbolizes me, it would be the apple. My username doesn’t contain the word “apple” for nothing.
    • Worst Collectible: For the basic fruits, it’s the Pear. For the perfect fruits, it’s the orange. For the tropical fruits, it’s the Durian. I’m going to go ahead and say Durian on this. It’s still not a bad collectible. Just not as good as the others.
  • #6 – Basic Star Fragments: By no surprise, would you expect another night sky collectible set to be among the best. They can be seen as lamps or cheaper alternatives to glow wands and not just glowing chunks of stars from space. They were introduced back in 2020, same year Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out, and same year Bell Tree Forums switched software to Xenforo. In ACNH, only the yellow star fragments had a good use due to my distaste in astrology. In TBT, any star fragment would have a good use.
    • Best Collectible: At this point, I would choose based on color and not based on overall design. My favorite out of all star fragments, basic or team, is the Blue Star Fragment. Another I like is the Green Star Fragment. I’m more of a sucker for cool-colored collectibles.
    • Worst Collectible: While white isn’t my least favorite color the star fragments can come in, the White Star Fragment would be the least appealing of the basic star fragments since it’s more of a boring color for lighting. In an ordinary setting, a white light would be the best light to get anything done. But for parties, that would be the last kind of light to use.
  • #7 – Blended Feathers: In contrast to the balloons and star fragments, the blended-color feathers that came out during the Retro-themed TBT Fair of 2017 are better than their plain counterparts from previous fairs. I wasn’t too fond of the feather collectibles when I first joined, but these feathers made me like feather collectibles more.
    • Best Collectible: The name, color selection, and the overall feel made the Cool Feather the best of the feather collectibles. I also like the Hot Feather and Fresh Feather. I think the lower-tier blended feathers are better than the higher-tier ones.
    • Worst Collectible: As a fight against the popular opinion, the Sweet Feather is the worst of the blended feather collectibles. Though given that I’m outside the main demographic of the Animal Crossing fandom, this wouldn’t seem surprising to see my low opinion towards the Sweet Feather. I sometimes call it the Kracko Feather (because of Kracko’s color scheme) or the aspartame feather (since aspartame is a sweetner).
  • #8 – Common Christmas Items: For items like stockings, candles, mittens, hot chocolates, and baubles, these are among the lowest tier of collectibles due to their overabundance. So much that giving away is more practical than selling. But the advantage of them being so cheap is that it would make it easier for those who are more interested into collecting them, with I being one of the few users. Since Christmas is my favorite holiday, I had to come up with an all-Christmas collectible sidebar, which was easy and a success.
    • Best Collectible: As a large and abundant category, the winner would have to be the Hot Cocoa. A fun fact is that it’s one of the very few collectibles to have a reaction on Bell Tree Forums, as part of the Naughty or Nice event from 2023. The hot cocoa was one of the two nice reacts, which served as a foil to the snowball react (which covers user avatars).
    • Worst Collectible: The loser of this is the Lump of Coal. I wouldn’t mind collecting many Christmas collectibles, but there are a few that I wouldn’t dare to collect, and the Lump of Coal is one of them due to its association with being naughty.
  • #9 – Rare Christmas Items: As a much smaller category, these are the Christmas items that are harder to get due to having less in circulation and higher selling prices among users. The collectibles included are the Yule Log, the Aurora Borealis, and all of the bunny collectibles (including the Moon Bunny).
    • Best Collectible: The Yule Log collectible isn’t just the best of the rare Christmas items on TBT. It’s the best of all Christmas items on TBT, and is starting to become my favorite collectible, even surpassing the glow wands and animated collectibles. It looks delicious and is part of the winter theme. The Aurora Borealis is my second favorite, despite being too weird to be a collectible.
    • Worst Collectible: It will have to be the Snow Bunny on this. As an item in ACNL, it was my least favorite offered by the Snowtyke, and it’s not as good as the other rare Christmas items on TBT either. At least the Moon Bunny and Psychedelic Snow Bunny had more interesting designs.
  • #10 – Halloween Items: So what would count as part of the Halloween Items category? According to this list, the only items that would go here are the 2015 Spooktacular Spellectables (Pumpkin Cupcake, Voodoo Doll, and Ancient Candle), the Ghostly Preserves, the Spectral Preserves, Gourdy, and the 2023 Halloween Carnival items. While Christmas is my favorite holiday, Halloween comes second. Unlike Christmas, I wouldn’t have a separate sidebar for Halloween collectibles.
    • Best Collectible: Overall, the Halloween Carnival items are the best of the Halloween collectibles in general, but winner goes to the Pumpkin Cupcake, first introduced in 2015. It was designed by Laudine as part of the Spellectables Design contest, as this one was the first place winner. It’s the best of the originals, still the best collectible with a purple background today. Though the best of the Halloween Carnival collectibles would have to be the Green Cotton Candy.
    • Worst Collectible: My least favorite of this category goes to Squasha. I’m not a fan of the fancy Jack-o-Lanterns as collectibles. I would prefer actual collectibles or treats as collectibles.
  • #11 – Party Items: Unless if more toy hammers, pinwheels, and party poppers come out, all three of these collectibles will go under the same category. I’m not too keen on the toy hammers, but I do like the pinwheels and party poppers (including the fact that one of them was an animated collectible, but that’s in another category. Right now, there are seven collectibles in this group.
    • Best Collectible: The best party item that isn’t a balloon would have to be the Carnival Pinwheel, released during the Halloween Carnival of 2023. It looks more beautifully designed than the original Fair Pinwheel released in 2013. It also shows that more pinwheels have came out since 2013 and 2014.
    • Worst Collectible: Sadly enough, one of these seven items would have to take the medal of dishonor, and that goes to the Pink Toy Hammer collectible. Not that I don’t like the color pink, but I’m not really into the toy hammers.
  • #12 – Plushies: Another collectible category to come out since the release of ACNH was the plush category. Originally, it wasn’t as good since the only ones available were the Mom’s Plush, the Sheep Plush, and the Celeste Chick Plush. But after the many events to follow, such as the 2021 Camp TBT and 2023 Camp TBT events, this category has improved a lot. The best plushies usually come from the Camp TBT events. Ironically, the worst of the 2021 Camp TBT Plushies was the Oyster Shell Plush, while the best of the 2023 Camp TBT Plushies was the Space Whale Plush
    • Best Collectible: The best of these collectibles is the Ghostly Kitty Plush from the 2023 Halloween Carnival. I try to avoid collecting the plushies since I’m more into the pinwheel and carnival items, but even I eventually fell in favor of the Ghostly Kitty Plush. The runner-up plushies are the Bee Plush, the Clownfish Plush, and the Space Whale Plush.
    • Worst Collectible: The worst one would have to be the Dreamy Bear Plush. The other plushies were either animals or objects turned into plushies, but this was more based on a teddy bear than an actual plush. In reality, I like weirder plushies more, with the food plushies being the best ones. But teddy bears are too generic.
  • #13 – Cakes and Pies: This category is where the Cake, the Tasty Cake, the Chocolate Cake, the Pumpkin Pie, and the Key Lime Pie collectibles fall under. It’s a small category, and a mixed bag. The best collectible lies here, while most others aren’t really worth it.
    • Best Collectible: The best collectible is the Chocolate Cake. It’s not just the best of this category. It’s the best out of all collectibles on TBT (though it’s starting to lose its position to the Yule Log). Back when I first joined TBT, this was the very first collectible I coveted. There has been times I’ve been without one after December of 2014, but since January of 2019, it’s clear that I have never been without a Chocolate Cake collectible. It lost its luster since it’s no longer valued as much as it was in my early days, but it was the first collectible that I ever sought.
    • Worst Collectible: Meanwhile, its original partner, the Cake, released in 2011, was my least favorite. While Chocolate Cakes were all the rage, the regular Cakes were among the lowest tier of collectibles. Its low price, high abundance, and the fact that it was so easy to get early on, makes this look like a poor man’s cake or even a poor man’s collectible. It’s so easy to get, but due to how serious of a business collectibles are, it’s not the collectible you’ll want.
  • #14 – Enchanted Forest Crystals: The 2022 TBT Fair introduced a couple of interesting collectible categories, and the better-looking ones were the Enchanted Crystals (Pearlescent, Opalescent, Rose, Caustic, and Citrine). They do feel too weird to be collectibles, but you can’t deny that they look pretty good.
    • Best Collectible: Using color bias once again, the winner has got to be the Opalescent Crystal. If I had to look for only blue collectibles, this one would definitely be part of my all-blue sidebar.
    • Worst Collectible: While I don’t hate this collectible by any means, the last place collectible in this category is the Citrine Crystal. It’s still a beautiful-looking crystal.
  • #15 – Pokéballs: Collectibles have always been a big deal on TBT, but this is the original sin of the collectible craze – the Pokéballs. For the first five years, there was only one Pokéball collectible, which was released to celebrate the release of Pokémon X/Y. But the fact they were so popular was why they sold out too fast. And then they’ve been scalped and made more expensive due to rarity. More Pokéballs have been introduced, including the Moon Ball, the Love Ball, and the imposter Master Ball collectible.
    • Best Collectible: Yep, the best collectible of this small category is the imposter collectible released in 2023 – the Master Ball. But that’s also because the Master Ball is the best of the Pokéballs in the Pokémon games. They never fail when you try to catch a Pokémon. If I were to have a Pokéball collectible, the Master Ball will be my first choice, despite being extremely rare.
    • Worst Collectible: On the other hand, my least favorite would be the Love Ball, first released during 2018 as part of the Pokémon week event. I’m not a fan of hearts, love, or pink in collectibles. And I don’t use the apricorn balls in Pokémon games.
  • #16 – Halloweaster Eggs: The second best category of egg collectibles on TBT are not any other Easter Egg categories, but rather the autumnal equivalent of them, the Halloweaster Eggs. The first batch were okay at best, but the later ones show that Halloweaster Eggs have improved. Unfortunately, when I try to have an “assorted” collectibles collection, there’s usually no room for the Halloweaster Eggs when I look for the regular Easter eggs or Halloween candies. But if I can have 5×3 lineups, I’ll be sure to include a Halloweaster Egg in my collection.
    • Best Collectible: Easily the coolest-looking one, the Will-o-the-Wisp Halloweaster Egg is the best of the Halloweaster Eggs just like how the Disco Ball Easter Egg is the best of the Easter Eggs. Now I previously said that I didn’t like the Nightmare Egg, but I liked the Will-o’-the-Wisp Egg. I could see this more like an egg lamp collectible. If they make this into an animated collectible, it better be on/off like a lantern and not a dancing fire.
    • Worst Collectible: The worst of all Halloweaster Eggs is the Flick Halloweaster Egg. It looks more like the devil’s egg, judging by the design. Also, Flick doesn’t seem very fitting for the Halloween theme.
  • #17 – Summer Items: Another small category of items, this is mostly popsicles. While the category was first introduced in 2014 as part of the 2014 Summer event the TBT Beach Party, it hardly got new collectibles as the years went on. In fact, they were hardly re-released.
    • Best Collectible: Most of the food items are popsicles, but the one food item that isn’t a popsicle is the Ice Cream Swirl. It’s one of my favorite collectibles too, even better than my favorite collectibles from categories that did better than the Summer Items in general. It was also the first place collectible in the collectible design contest, and it was made by Witch. But this collectible will lose its spot if the Hot Dog collectible or Hamburger collectible ever becomes a reality.
    • Worst Collectible: The worst collectible in this category is the Blue Summer Shell. It’s not a bad collectible. I just prefer the foods more.
  • #18 – Christmas Candies: As part of both the Christmas collectibles and Candy collectibles, the four Christmas Candies (Christmas Candy, Gold Christmas Candy, Hanukkah Candy, and Kwanzaa Candy) get their own category, and I suggest there needs to be more (like a New Year’s Candy, a Boxing Day Candy, and a Winter Solstice Candy). It’s actually the primary reason why I would collect candy collectibles in the first place in this day and age.
    • Best Collectible: As basic, cheap, and overabundant this collectible is, I would prefer the regular Christmas Candy over the others. It’s currently the only candy collectible I own.
    • Worst Collectible: On the other hand, my least favorite is the Kwanzaa Candy. I’m not a fan of Kwanzaa. I would eventually collect all of the Christmas candies, including this one, but it will be the last one I collect.
  • #19 – Team Star Fragments: As previously mentioned, I like the multi-colored feathers over the single-colored feathers, and the single-colored star fragments of the multi-colored star fragments. But I do like some memorabilia of the 2023 Space Camp TBT, which was the most popular event according to today’s TBTers.
    • Best Collectible: As a (former) Galaxolotl, it’s no surprise that I would pick the Galaxolotl Star Fragment. But even if I avoid using team bias, it looks like multi-mixed gray star fragment with dots rather than a pufferfish like star fragment.
    • Worst Collectible: My least favorite would have to be the Lost Fragment AN.002, or the Actually Nevermind Star Fragment had the Actually Neverminders won against the Galaxolotls. I already don’t like purple, but a green and purple star fragment with a pufferfish like design makes it ugly. Maybe this star fragment needs to touch the grass.
  • #20 – Basic Feathers: After I got the other star fragments ranked, it’s time to put the other feathers into play. The ones released during the 2013 TBT Fair, which eventually gained a Black Feather in the 2016 TBT Fair. There are also the Pavé Pink Feather and Pavé Purple Feather collectibles to throw in as well.
    • Best Collectible: Even though I don’t see room in my collection for this, my favorite is the Black Feather, a very rare feather collectible, and a symbol of the toughest of the birds. If I had to get a feather collectible, I’ll go ahead and take the Black Feather due to my lack of black collectibles.
    • Worst Collectible: The original 2013 TBT Fair feathers were okay at best, but I’m not too keen into the new ones released in 2021, with the Pavé Pink Feather being the worst of the feather collectibles. It doesn’t look as good as the regular Pink Feather.
  • #21 – Potions: Making its debut in the collectible realm in 2018, the potions started expanding as the years went on, just like the glow wands. It’s among the better collectibles with a dark gray background, and they are collectible-worthy. But I’m not sure if I would need these.
    • Best Collectible: The best potion isn’t one of those Halloween potions, but the Space Camp potions, also known as the Andromeda Potion. It looks more beautiful than the other potions. If I could have at least one potion, this is the one I would get.
    • Worst Collectible: The worst potion is the Raven Wings Potion. While I did like the Purple Bat Potion, I didn’t like the looks of the Angel Wings or Raven Wings potions.
  • #22 – Crescent Moons: While they are no superior to the Crescent Moon Glow Wand introduced during the 2016 TBT Fair, and are my least favorite of the night sky collectibles, the Crescent Moon collectibles introduced during the 2023 Camp TBT are interesting as they look like the moon chairs in ACNH. They aren’t bad collectibles, but I find them too weird to be in my collectible collection, let alone be furniture. I suggest it would be better to have furniture series collectibles.
    • Best Collectible: While they are all a close tie, the one I held onto the longest before selling it or trading it is the Orange Crescent Moon. It’s also the only color the moons came in that the star fragments never came in. But there is no Red Crescent Moon collectible either. And it’s a natural color of the moon.
    • Worst Collectible: While the White Star Fragment was my least favorite of the regular star fragments, my least favorite of the moons is the Yellow Crescent Moon. Looks too generic or bland.
  • #23 – Mush Lamps: While they are cool collectibles, at this point, it looks like that the staff ran out of ideas of what to make into collectibles. But then again, furniture series collectibles wouldn’t be such a bad idea. I just think that this is too weird to be a collectible category, and this is when I would start putting limits in my “assorted” collectible collection.
    • Best Collectible: Despite being the cheapest one, I would go with the Indigo Mush Lamp as the best of the Mush Lamp collectibles. Once again, you can guess it. It’s a blue collectible.
    • Worst Collectible: Despite looking like the famous mushroom, the Fly Agaric Mush Lamp is my least favorite of the Mush Lamp collectibles. But that’s because I prefer plain-colored ones over fancy ones.
  • #24 – Character Easter Eggs: Over 20 spots below the Fancy Easter Eggs, the Character Easter Eggs is not that bad of a category of collectibles. For your information, these are the collectibles based on Nintendo characters or other weird characters. The eggs in this collection are the Eevee Easter Egg, the Waluigi Easter Egg, the Yoshi Easter Egg, the Togepi Easter Egg, the Happy Ditto Easter Egg, the Blue Junimo Easter Egg, the My Melody Easter Egg, the Kirby Easter Egg, the Splat Easter Egg, the Red Pikmin Easter Egg, the Daisy Easter Egg, the Pikachu Easter Egg, the Froggy Easter Egg, and the Turquoise Squid Easter Egg.
    • Best Collectible: The best of the egg collectibles besides the Fancy Eggs would be the Eevee Easter Egg. At the time it came out, Eevee was my favorite Pokémon. The rest of the character eggs are not that okay. But I did like the Eevee Egg. And it looks like an actual Eevee Egg like seen in the anime rather than Eevee’s face being painted on it.
    • Worst Collectible: My least favorite character egg is the Daisy Easter Egg. And for the first time on this list, it’s a collectible that I do not like. But to be honest, none of the Character Easter Eggs released after 2020 are good. I would avoid these collectibles at all costs.
  • #25 – Lunar New Year: A new set of collectibles, these collectibles have a mix of backgrounds. It seems very nice and fitting alright, but I don’t care too much about the Lunar New Year collectibles as much. To be honest, I focused more on the red envelope trading event than anything else because of the Luck of the Dragon event, where fortune cookies yield great rewards.
    • Best Collectible: For being a night sky collectible, the Festival Lantern is the best of the Lunar New Year collectibles. I also like the Fortune Cookie and Red Envelope collectibles despite their overabundance.
    • Worst Collectible: While I have a more neutral opinion towards them, the Plum Blossom is my least favorite of the Lunar New Year collectibles. But since this is a new collection, it’s hard to judge.
  • #26 – Flowers: Because of my heavy interest into the event collectibles, the basic shop collectibles typically don’t do well with me. The fruits and cakes are great. But the flowers, not so much. But just like in Animal Crossing, there’s only a limited selection of flowers that I do like.
    • Best Collectible: The tulips are the best of the flowers in Animal Crossing, and the Pink Tulip is my favorite of the tulip collectibles on TBT, but solely because it’s a hybrid tulip. I also like the Blue Rose collectible.
    • Worst Collectible: I don’t really like the violets as much, as the White Violet collectible is my least favorite of the flowers. But due to flowers being so cheap and abundant, I’m kinda close minded to any flower that isn’t a tulip or a rose.
  • #27 – Train Set: Although it seems weird to include as a separate category of collectibles, it did have the same background the plush collectibles have, and these are not plush collectibles. To be honest, it’s best to not have this without having a complete set.
    • Best Collectible: The Passenger Car collectible is the best because it is the only one besides the Blue Engine collectible that you can use as a separate “train” (like the trains in ACNL).
    • Worst Collectible: I’m not a fan of the Floral Car collectible from the train set. I’m more into the train cars that are like houses.
  • #28 – Arcade Characters: While the Tetris Grid is undoubtedly one of the best collectibles, the other collectibles that would’ve come from the same category (the arcade collectibles) are one of the worst categories. I mean, they are too weird to be collectibles. I don’t have any plans on collecting them other than the Tetris Grid.
    • Best Collectible: The best Arcade collectible besides the Tetris Grid would have to be Pinky, one of the Pac-Man ghosts. There’s also an imposter collectible called Inky. I think Pac-Man is one of the best retro arcade games.
    • Worst Collectible: The worst Arcade collectible would have to be the Space Invader. Not that it looks bad, but it’s rather because it’s based on Space Invaders, which is weak compared to Galaga and Galaxian.
  • #29 – Aquatic Collectibles: The new background of these collectibles is pretty cool, but the idea of fish as collectibles starts to get weirder. I did try getting some for resale, only for me to get no luck because almost nobody wants them.
    • Best Collectible: My favorite one from this set would have to be the Gold Moon Jellyfish. While I’m more into blue and green, and not too keen into yellow, the Gold Moon Jellyfish contrasts the water background, and is more valuable than the others.
    • Worst Collectible: Any of the Oarfish collectibles. You’ll have to collect the whole set to get a good depiction in the sidebar, and I didn’t like the idea of splitting a creature into different parts.
  • #30 – Birthstones: Don’t be too surprised to see basic shop collectibles to do poorly on this list. I tend to prefer something fancier, and the birthstone collectibles are anything but fancy. I do like the idea of gemstone collectibles and birthstone collectibles, but the shape is too weird to be birthstones. But I can’t have a sidebar without them.
    • Best Collectible: Because of the gemstone and month this birthstone is based on, the best one would have to be the September Birthstone. It may not be the month of my birthday, but it is the month I joined TBT. I also like sapphires over other gemstones.
    • Worst Collectible: My least favorite of the birthstones is the Peridot, or the August Birthstone. In general, August is the worst month, and the birthstone August is based on comes from minerals that are mostly found very deep in the Earth’s crust (where it gets hot).
  • #31 – Halloween Candies: Back in 2013 when they were introduced, they would’ve been another valuable series of collectibles. But the collectible craze in 2014 has destroyed their value, and now it’s hard for me to actually enjoy this category of collectibles. The one redeeming quality of this category is that they are collectible-worthy. But I like the Christmas Candies more. But if 6×2 sidebars return, or we get 5×3 sidebars, I’m sure that I’ll have candies in my collection.
    • Best Collectible: Even for a lower-tier collectible, the Orange Candy isn’t all that bad. Being the color orange, it seems fitting for Halloween. I also like the spirit candies based on Wix, Pierrot, and Vask. Also, the Friday the 13th Candy is cool.
    • Worst Collectible: Although I have warmed up to it after nine years, the Yellow Candy is the worst of the candy collectibles, and is a perfect example of a low-tier collectible. There will be no way I would have this candy in my collection, even if there’s a need for yellow collectibles.
  • #32 – Basic Easter Eggs: The remaining Easter Egg collectibles not mentioned from above go under here. I really liked the Fancy Easter Eggs. The Halloweaster Eggs were also cool. And the Character Easter Eggs at least had the Eevee Easter Egg (as well as the Pikachu Easter Egg). But these eggs, I don’t really see a use for them.
    • Best Collectible: Out of all of the lower-tier Easter Egg collectibles, my favorite would be the Paradise Planning Easter Egg, based on ACNH’s Happy Home Paradise DLC. Maybe they should make this egg for those who have decorated a lot of homes in HHP.
    • Worst Collectible: The bottom of the barrel for all egg collectibles on TBT, as well as for low-tier eggs, is the Sakura Easter Egg. I do not like the design of this egg collectible. There won’t be any room in my sidebar for this one.
  • #33 – Snowmen/Gyroids/Matryoshkas: Although I wouldn’t mind owning one of these collectibles, most of the collectibles in this group are pretty tacky. I’m not sure if I would even consider some to be collectibles.
    • Best Collectible: The winner is the Angel Snowman released in 2021. I would need a snowman for my all-Christmas sidebar.
    • Worst Collectible: The Tockoid would have to be my least favorite of out of all collectibles from this set and all of the winter collectibles. I don’t really like the resemblance of the GameCube Version human characters.
  • #34 – Other Forest Items: The crystals were cool, and the mush lamps were fine, but the butterfly spirits and other forest items would have to be my least favorite of all the TBT Fair collectibles.
    • Best Collectible: The only collectible I actually liked from this category is the Lily of the Valley. It’s beautiful, and a reminder of getting a perfect town in the Animal Crossing games. I’ve been getting these flowers more than those rotten rafflesias.
    • Worst Collectible: The Rebel Gnome is my least favorite forest collectible. Even for a forest collectible, this seems very out of place.
  • #35 – Weird Dolls: Originally an old wonder from 2012, it eventually gained a family over the years with a Strange Doll, a Quirky Doll, and a Strawberry Doll. Because of the looks, I find this category to be overrated.
    • Best Collectible: While I’m no fan, I would have to say the Strawberry Doll. It was the only of the weird doll collectibles I owned, but I sold it early for more TBT Bells.
    • Worst Collectible: In combination of tier and looks, my least favorite would be the Quirky Doll. I have no plans on owning these collectibles, and the only reason why I would have them is to sell them. And they don’t sell well, no matter how low you price them. But that’s because people hardly have any TBT Bells these days, and those who have lots of them don’t want to share (and we’re starting to have too many users with lots of Bells with little intentions to spend).
  • #36 – Limited Edition Collectibles: For stuff like the motes of flame, the candy canes, the 10 collectible, and the ones based on the Animal Crossing games, this category is rather bland. The fact they’re so easy to get and that they’re untradable makes this category so low on my list. But it’s not all lost.
    • Best Collectible: The best one would be the Blue Mote of Flame, released in 2015 as part of the Fire Festival. The fact that these collectibles have been discontinued is a mere disappointment.
    • Worst Collectible: Although I should be proud of owning one, the Astral Inner Floating Planet Gold #10, also known as the “10 Collectible”, seems rather weird. I’m like, is that even a collectible?
  • #37 – Event Patches: Although they are part of the above category, these are usually sold during the TBT Fair or Camp TBT as a token of participation in the events. I don’t see a good use for them.
    • Best Collectible: Of all of the event patches, the 2016 TBT Fair Patch is the best-looking one. Maybe not the best-designed patch, but it’s a reminder of the 2016 TBT Fair, the very event that introduced the best collectibles.
    • Worst Collectible: The 2013 TBT Fair Patch looks very primitive and shows that the original fair didn’t have a theme. It’s like the beginning of time, before anything actually happened.
  • #38 – Miscellaneous: Every collectible that does not fall into the categories above or below fall into this. Since they are mostly low-tier, it’s no surprise that I wouldn’t be a fan. That, and as an “assorted” collector, I’m not sure if I want any of these collectibles. I’m talking the mushrooms, sakuras, clovers, and the S.S. Dolphin.
    • Best Collectible: I’ll probably go with the Kaliedoclover as the best miscellaneous collectible.
    • Worst Collectible: The Famous Mushroom. It was originally a cool seasonal collectible back in 2016, but now that it became too common and no longer in theme, I don’t think I would like the Famous Mushroom anymore.
  • #39 – House Letters: As one of the basic shop collectibles, I find this category to be too tacky. I’ve been wondering why would they put titles as collectibles. I wouldn’t mind collecting one of each collectible from every category, but this one is the bane of my existence, and are only good for selling.
    • Best Collectible: I would probably say the Purple House collectible. Enough said.
    • Worst Collectible: At the other end, the Cyan House collectible is the worst of the houses.
  • #40 – Villagers: And now, we’re at the bottom of the barrel for all collectible categories. Sure we like villagers and special characters like Isabelle and Leif, but making them into collectibles is too tacky. There will absolutely be no room in my inventory for any collectibles in this group at all. Fortunately for them, none of these collectibles are in my bottom ten or bottom twenty of my list.
    • Best Collectible: Isabelle would be the best of the characters. Still not worth making into a collectible.
    • Worst Collectible: The worst one is Pavé. While I don’t like this category, the site has yet to make a bad villager into a collectible.

And finally, here’s the top 20 list of best collectibles on Bell Tree Forums, in my opinion:
